St. Mary of the Assumption’s Mission Statement
We, the parishioners of St. Mary of the Assumption located in Waterford, New York, are a Eucharistic-Centered community who bear witness to our faith by the celebration of the sacraments, by our ministries and by our devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Through our many ministries, we offer praise to God and by our Christian service, we offer support and comfort to those in need. We strongly support Catholic education through our parochial school and faith formation program. We strive to grow in our love of God and to be good stewards of our time, talents and resources.
St. Mary’s provides a livestream of our 8 AM mass every Sunday morning.

Sunday at 8:00 AM & 10:00 AM
Tuesday & Thursday 8:30 a.m.
First Friday of every month~ St. Mary’s School mass at 11:00
Holy Days of Obligation~ To be announced
Reconciliation is available prior to the vigil mass on Saturdays from 3-3:30 pm or by appointment.
Daily Prayer
Church is open daily, Monday through Friday, for private prayer from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
First Saturday Devotions: 7:30 a.m.
All are welcome to join in the recitation of the Rosary, Mon. – Fri. at 7:30 a.m.
Stations of the Cross- Every Friday during Lent 7 pm
Liturgy of the Hours is prayed on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome and encouraged to bring a friend.
Events
Sept. 9th-First day of classes at St. Mary’s School
Sept. 11th- A special First Friday liturgy at 11:00 am with school community as we commemorate the 25th Anniversary of 9/11/2001. Active First Responders/Fire and Police will be joining the mass. Procession will line up at the front entrance of church at 10:50 a.m.
Liturgy of the Hours is prayed each Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m.
St. Mary’s Faith Formation
St. Mary of the Assumption Parish will be starting up their Faith Formation Program on Sunday, September 20 th for the 2026-2027 year. We are very excited to welcome back all of our students and those who may not have registered yet.
We have a very dynamic program for students in Grades 1 through 10. We have a staff of dedicated catechists
who thoroughly enjoy teaching our students. We work on a Hybrid Schedule that allows for more flexibility with other activities our students have in their lives. Typically, we have in-person learning every other Sunday from 9-9:50. There are modules to be done at home, at the student’s convenience, on the off weeks.
If you think you may be interested in seeing what St. Mary’s Faith Formation has to offer, we welcome you to stop by and sit in on a class. Our Catholic Faith is such a precious gift we have been
given, It is so important to share this with our families so that they grow up feeling this tremendous love from our Faith and our families to allow them to navigate with integrity through these times of challenge in our society.
